On Saturday Sept 26, AMEC held their second annual community day. At the event, representatives of AMEC made a donation to improve our skatepark. The $8000 donation can be matched by the Provincial Government for a $16,000 improvement to the skate park that will include more concrete and a longer rollway for the stairs apparatus.

2009 GooseJam Skateboard event was held on Saturday July 11th at the HVGB Rotary SkatePark.

This year, GooseJam included a skateboard clinic followed by a skate-off competition. This change was a suggestion from the skateboarders.

All the participants had a great time at Goosejam, each receiving a medal, and some with new skate decks as prizes for the best tricks on specific apparatus. The rain held off until after the event. Thanks to Sherry at CNA for designing this poster.

Goosejam was ran a bit different this year. We allowed the skaters to judge each other.

CYN held FREE skateboard clinics over the summer where older skaters showed younger ones and coached in new tricks. CYN provided refreshments for participants. We ended with a pizza party.
