The youth learned a lot from this course! How the seal skin has to flow, how to cut the seal skin, how to adjust the liner and how to sew all pieces together.
The CYN actively promotes crafts as a great hobby and even potential business ventures for youth. In 2009 we offered courses in painting (talking sticks) and in sewing seal skin boots. Previously we offered a course in soapstone carving. Our instructors are local skilled artists/artisans and often elders.
