Youth Christmas 2007
KARAOKE KRISTMAS YOUTH PARTY DEC 07
This event was awesome with 57+ youth showing up to enjoy a Christmas celebration together with youth leaders. The partners that created this event were Krista Oxford from CYN, Michelle Parsons from HVGB and Joyce Tuglavina from NWR Nunatsiavut DHSD, Andrea Keats from Labrador Metis Nation, April Andersen from Labrador Friendship Center and Natasha Hurley from Charles J Andrew Treatment Center, Sheshashui.
We had a karaoke/pool party at McNally's Billiards with DJ Keith Russell. We had pizza, snacks, door prizes and prizes for karaoke singers. The youth danced and sang and played pool. Santa came to visit and gave the youth presents before they left.
It was nice to be able to have this joint event with NWR, HVGB and SSS youth coming together to make lasting friendships.

GINGERBREAD HOUSE MAKING DEC 07
We had this event at the Nunatsiavut Building in HVGB with NWR & SSS youth leaders holding the same event in NWR the same week. CYN, Nunatsiavut DHSD, Lab Friendship Center & LMN partnered on this event and had 17 youth participate.
The event went very well. The youth all had a good time. Some youth had never put together a gingerbread house before.

SANTA CLAUS PARADE DEC 07
Our Youth Float entry in the 2007 Santa Claus Parade won Best Decorated
Our float entry into the Christmas Parade 2007 included youth from the following groups:
- Community Youth Network
- Labrador Friendship Centre
- Labrador Metis Nation
- Nunatsiavut DHSD
This was an awesome event to be a part of. The Parade took on a new route this year to accomodate the groups that wanted to walk and perform making the parade so much more interactive and enjoyable for the spectators. It almost made people forget how very cold it was outside.
Our youth entry consisted of the truck float youth, the cheerleaders from Mealy Mountain Collegiate, the Nunatsiavut Drumdancers, and our youth clown driving the four-wheeler, Shawnee Sampson.
GREAT JOB DONE GUYS AND WONDERFUL MEMORIES MADE !!!
